Stupendous itinerary to enjoy the genuine charm of a wide lateral Brembana valley, well-known for two famous Orobic cheeses with an intense aroma. Besides this dairy goodness you will discover the treasures of the peasant architecture here, the only one of its kind, and you will admire the open fields with chromatic variety of the “little Bergamasca Switzerland”.

Arrival in Taleggio Valley, passing through a suggestive Orrido ravine, a tortuous gorge sculpted in rock by the Enna torrent, a tributary of the Brembo River. Visit to a dairy that produces Taleggio and Strachitunt. The first one is a soft, square-shaped cheese, from the stracchino family, that is made with whole milk and processed raw, which means just milked from “tired” cows (in dialect “stracch”, thus the name stracchino) since they came from a summer pasture or a pasture in the plains. Only particular aging conditions in a grotto and the local microclimate lend to taleggio cheese its unmistakable aroma, which is also found in the round stracchino form, that is the Strachitunt with Italian Designation of Origin. This cheese is a cultured product created by skilfully mixing the morning curd with that from the evening. Visit to an aging cellar and the historical handcrafting for which the people from Valtellina have always been distinguished. Lunch with a menu for sampling products from the area.

At the end, a pleasing excursion to admire the characteristic small dwellings with roofs in piöde, that is the local slate that here, due to the singular slant and overlaying of the sheets, is among the only ones in the world. Return to hotel.
